As a highly trained professional, you will help prepare patients and operating rooms for surgery, and serve as an extra set of hands during surgical procedures. Function as a member of the surgical team who promotes safe patient care, prepares for surgical procedures and manages the sterile field, assists the surgeon by passing instruments/equipment and anticipating needs during surgical procedures. Understands and satisfies the supply, instrumentation and equipment needs from neonatal to adult patients. Demonstrates advanced knowledge and proficient practice in the first scrub role for most surgical procedures. Assists with orientation of new personnel in the surgical technologist role. Requirements

  • Must have completion of a surgical technologist program.
  • Experience required; 2 years of surgical technologist experience with a minimum of 1 year in pediatrics.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross is required.
  • This position is (4) 10 hour shifts from 6:50am until 5:20pm, with rotating off day.
  • Although final position will be (4) 10 hour shifts, orientation will be Monday through Friday from 6:50am until 3:20pm with off shift rotation.
  • Orientation lasts approximately 6 months.
  • This position also includes weekday, weekend and holiday call requirements (must report to the hospital within 30 mins).

Nice To Haves

  • Surgical Technologist Certification preferred.
