Technical Marketing Engineer

About the position

Murata Electronics is seeking a Hardware Application Engineer to join our cutting-edge team. This position offers the opportunity to take on exciting challenges in a dynamic environment, shaping the future of product design win leadership and technical marketing while collaborating with global clients and projects. The role involves leading pre-sale support, developing Proof of Concepts (POCs), contributing to strategic planning, and collaborating with various teams to drive the integration of Murata products into customer applications. The position is hybrid, based in either Novi, MI or San Jose, CA.

Responsibilities

• Lead pre-sale support to amplify product business and assist local Sales and Business Development in securing design wins.
• Develop Proof of Concepts (POCs) for specific use cases to expand product visibility.
• Contribute to strategic ideas and planning to strengthen Murata's existing business from a technical and market perspective.
• Contrast current product portfolio by application to identify new product opportunities.
• Collaborate with Business Development, Product Development, and customers to drive integration of Murata products into customer applications.
• Dive deep into key applications and functional blocks to incorporate Murata products into a comprehensive approach by application.
• Engage in customer calls, visit clients for application knowledge, and provide total solutions support.
• Bridge the gap between Business Development, Product Development, and customers by understanding market and technical application requirements.
• Translate customer use case scenarios into technical proposals, maximizing the potential of Murata products.
• Prepare persuasive presentations and proposals that articulate product solutions in line with applications.
• Review current product portfolio to identify new product opportunities.
• Provide technical support and training to internal and external stakeholders for new business activities on application and bundled products.
• Create application-based collateral and digital campaigns for Digital Experience to increase awareness and generate new leads related to key applications.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering.
• Experience with system design in the Mobility market.
• Experience in automotive design cycles from product initiation to SOP.
• Experience with circuit topologies specifically around processors, power delivery, signal lines, and optical (non-wireless).
• Experience in technical interactions with customers and across various domains.
• Knowledge of schematics, simulation, and PCB development tools.
• Capability to analyze datasheet parameters and evaluate component suitability for specific applications.

Nice-to-haves

• Master's degree in electrical engineering.
• 5+ years of automotive design development and customer interface experience.
• Experience with circuit topologies specifically around WiFi, UWB, mmWave, Cellular, Bluetooth, GPS/GNSS, LWPA and similar market standards (Wireless).
