About the position

The Technical Product Assembler I is responsible for assembling products according to technical drawings, verbal instructions, and specifications, utilizing hand and power tools with a high degree of precision and accuracy, ensuring quality throughout the assembly process and during inspection. This is an on-site hourly position and requires a daily presence at our RectorSeal Manassas, VA facility. Additional work hours will be assigned during peak times and year-end. RectorSeal manufactures and/or distributes a variety of mechanical products for the HVAC, electrical, and plumbing industries. For over 80 years, RectorSeal's customers have depended on us for quality products with excellent value, shipped to them in a timely manner. This passion for excellent customer service is the reason RectorSeal has been growing at a very fast pace, and now requires additional shift capacity to meet customer demand.

Responsibilities

  • Follows all company-established rules and policies; adheres to all safety rules, quality standards, process documentation, and regulations.
  • Conducting quality checks on assembled components and products to ensure they meet specified requirements and standards.
  • Identifying and resolving assembly issues and problems.
  • Adhering to established safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Maintaining records of assembly processes and any issues encountered.
  • Maintains a clean, safe, and organized work area.
  • Perform other related duties as directed.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/Equivalent or 6 months experience in a manufacturing or distribution environment in lieu of education.
  • Able to work 8 -12-hour shifts standing.
  • Reliable and punctual.

Nice-to-haves

  • Ability to understand basic technical drawings, schematics, and assembly procedures.
  • Basic computer skills to function in job role.
  • Familiarity with various hand and power tools used in assembly.
  • Meticulous attention to detail ensures accuracy and quality.
  • Ability to perform repetitive tasks and stand for extended periods.
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Basic math skills. Ability to read and interpret measurements and perform calculations.
