Medtronic Pelvic Health provides therapies that treat patients suffering from overactive bladder, non-obstructive urinary retention and fecal incontinence with our sacral neuromodulation (SNM) systems InterStim X and InterStim Micro; and our percutaneous tibial neuromodulation (PTNM) system NURO. More than 400 million people worldwide have incontinence, and many of them limit their lives socially, professionally and personally because of their condition. Our goal is to expand access to our therapies, and introduce new therapies, so we can potentially help millions of people get their lives back. As a Pelvic Health Therapy Development Specialist, you will play a critical role in the successful introduction and adoption of new OAB (overactive bladder) therapies. You will provide in-depth technical support and guidance to help HCP teams build confidence, capability and belief in our innovative new therapies. The ideal candidate will be energized by the opportunity to partner with HCPs to offer new therapies and motivated to expand access for patients. You will possess a strong background in medical device technology, possess product and procedure expertise, therapy development experience, a strong track record of agility and adaptability to learn, and the ability to manage and collaborate with complex stakeholders and build effective working relationships. This role will require 70+% travel within the assigned district and potentially outside of the district as business needs dictate.

Responsibilities

  • Own the customer implementation process and procedural success metrics to drive adoption of new Pelvic Health therapies within targeted accounts.
  • Guide medical professionals to safely and effectively use new therapies including, but not limited to, implant and technologies that enable procedure success.
  • Identify implementation and broader adoption challenges and determine the most appropriate avenue for resolution.
  • Conduct reviews with HCP teams to provide metrics on implementation status, discuss successes and address any challenges.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, sales, and product development, to ensure a successful product launch.
  • Partner with District Manager, Marketing, Medical Education and Field Market Development to identify current and future needs related to procedure market development at targeted accounts.
  • Develop and execute therapy development plans for each target account to support sustained adoption.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with HCP and staff at supported sites.
  • Act as a liaison between the company and healthcare provider teams to address any concerns or questions related to new products.
  • Provide on-site technical support during initial procedures to ensure the proper use.
  • Assist physicians and clinical staff with technical guidance and troubleshooting during procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety protocols and guidelines during product usage in the OR/ASC/Office.
  • Stay up to date on latest clinical publications.
  • Attend at least 1 physician training - potentially supports cadaver portion of that training.
  • Share new support materials (e.g. case publications, case libraries, etc.) with HCPs.
  • Share insights and best practices with internal teams.
  • Stay updated on the latest advancements in relevant technology and surgical techniques.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of training programs and technical support processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., Biomedical Engineering, Nursing, or a related healthcare discipline).
  • 5+ years of experience in a clinical or medical device environment, with a focus on physician training and OR technical product support.
  • Willingness to travel extensively to provide on-site technical support.

  • Advanced degree or certification in a relevant field.
  • Experience with product launch and market introduction of medical devices.
  • Proven track record of successful physician training and/or case coverage.
  • Strong understanding of surgical procedures and medical device technology.
  • Confidence to provide physician constructive feedback to improve performance.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate with cross-functional partners to assess and address barriers to full adoption.
  • Ability to manage change in a way that reduces the concern experienced by others.
