About the position

The precision oncology space is evolving at a rapid pace with emerging biomarkers, technologies and applications providing insights into the cause and potential cures for cancer. As the market leader in digital PCR, Bio-Rad is developing platforms and assays for oncology research and clinical applications across the continuum of the cancer journey to provide new insights that ultimately have an impact on patient care. These include highly sensitive multiplexed assays that can be used for therapy selection as well as monitoring response and surveillance through liquid biopsy. We are looking for an experienced, and highly motivated Global Product Manager, Oncology to join our growing product management team to serve this critical segment. In this role, you will own the success for a portfolio of ddPCR-based oncology assays and kits by representing the customer as well as the business interests. You will have the opportunity to grow the market for current products, as well as participating in new product introductions. You will translate your strong knowledge of the marketplace - including the competitive landscape, technical and scientific trends, and insights into customer needs - to develop and market differentiated quality products & solutions. Ability to articulate your ideas across the organization, and work cross-functionally across diverse research, scientific, sales, and marketing teams is a must.

Responsibilities

  • Define and bring to market new products and/or workflows for the oncology market in line with the group's overall business strategy; be an internal and external champion of the assigned product portfolio.
  • Assist in specifying requirements for future products by conducting primary and secondary market research including VOCs, gathering competitive intelligence, and monitoring market trends.
  • Construct and deliver compelling stories to promote the portfolio of Droplet Digital PCR (ddPCR) products and the customer problems the products are intended to solve.
  • Act as an internal subject matter expert and align with business development and other functions to enable success through partnership initiatives.
  • Contribute to the development of commercial and go-to-market strategies, and aid with the execution of marketing tactics including launch plans led by program marketing, to deliver on the group's sales and revenue goals.

Requirements

  • Education: BS/MS in molecular biology or a similar field; PhD and/or MBA preferred.
  • Work Experience: 5-10 years of direct product management experience in the life sciences or closely related industry; previous experience with development and launch of PCR-based molecular technologies (digital PCR, NGS) is a must.
  • Knowledge of the oncology space such as biomarkers for therapy selection, liquid biopsy applications, including molecular residual disease (MRD) is strongly preferred.
  • Understanding of the clinical research and translational space including clinical trials, global regulatory landscapes for IVD, LDT etc.
  • Ability to develop and articulate business cases based on primary and secondary market research, understanding of the technical and scientific needs, and competitive landscape.
  • Proven ability to work with cross-functional teams including strong written, verbal and interpersonal skills with high emotional intelligence, empathy, ability to influence colleagues, resolve conflicts, and align stakeholders from a variety of backgrounds, cultures and disciplines.
  • Ability to travel up to 25% of the time.
