This position is 40 hours biweekly. Transports patients to their inpatient beds and/or to other areas such as surgery, therapy or radiology in a safe and timely manner. Maintains and cleans equipment. Complies with established PPE requirements necessary for protection against exposure to blood and other potentially infectious body fluids, chemical disinfectants, radiation and other hazardous substances. Abides by all Infection Control Policies i.e. Hand Hygiene, Equipment Decontamination. Essential Functions Transport of patient: includes lifting and moving patient, movement to designation with appropriate equipment. Monitor's patient's status in route and responds to change in patient condition. Decontaminates equipment after each transport in compliance with Equipment Contamination Policy. Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the core values of the Hospital.
