About the position

You'll join Walmart's Global Technology Platforms organization as part of our Strategy team supporting internal platforms and infrastructure. This team is responsible for crafting, facilitating, and campaigning strategies spanning a range of technical subject areas such as data, artificial intelligence, infrastructure, developer tools, and much more. You'll join us as a Director of Product Strategy, where you'll play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our internal platforms on a global scale. As a member of a small team of organizational and product strategists, you'll partner with, and advise, technology leaders and executives across a broad range of technical topics such as AI and machine learning, developer tooling, infrastructure, runtime platforms, and more. Through these engagements, you will play a critical role as a trusted advisor in product visioning, road-mapping, growth strategies, and much more. You will be challenged with synthesizing insights from several internal and external sources to craft high-visibility, high-impact product strategies on a global scale. In this role, you must be able to dissect complex, technical concepts and translate them for a broad range of audiences, including non-technical associates and business executives. You must be comfortable in challenging assumptions, facilitating difficult decisions, and working on multi-disciplinary technical topics. You will play the pivotal role of bridging the gap between technology, strategy, and our associates from around the world.

Responsibilities

  • Lead cross-functional product strategy efforts, aligning with Walmart's technology, business, and operational goals.
  • Craft and socialize clear, concise, and engaging product stories and strategies, including visioning, road-mapping, long-range planning, and whitepapers.
  • Collaborate with strategic communications partners to craft product marketing resources that elevate and reinforce a cohesive brand identity, both internal and external to Walmart.
  • Oversee the articulation, creation, and delivery of executive-level communications, such as product demos, whitepapers, and strategy campaigns.
  • Partner with cross-functional leaders and subject-matter-experts to frame, design, and plan innovative solutions to complex, high-impact challenges.
  • Develop a deep understanding of Walmart's technical landscape to proactively identify challenges and opportunities to deepen competitive advantages and improve experiences for our customers and associates.
  • Apply a continuous improvement mindset to enhancing the methods, systems, and tools used to generate organizational and product strategies.

Requirements

  • Proven track record in product management, particularly within technology platforms and infrastructure.
  • Experience in leading cross-functional teams and driving product strategy at a global scale.
  • Broad understanding of technical subject areas such as AI, machine learning, developer tools, infrastructure, and data platforms.
  • Ability to translate complex technical concepts for diverse audiences.
  • Strong strategic thinking and visioning skills, with the ability to craft and execute high-impact product strategies.
  • Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to influence and advise senior technology leaders and executives.
  • Excellent communication and storytelling abilities, capable of creating engaging product stories, whitepapers, and executive-level communications.
  • Ability to partner effectively with cross-functional leaders and subject-matter experts to design innovative solutions to complex challenges.
  • A mindset focused on continuous improvement, enhancing methods, systems, and tools to generate effective organizational and product strategies.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, and able to adapt to changing priorities and business needs.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business Administration, or related area.
  • 10 years' experience as a product manager, ideally working on consumer-facing, large-scale, highly complex B2B/C products.
  • Supervisory experience.
  • Background in creating inclusive digital experiences, demonstrating knowledge in implementing Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 AA standards, assistive technologies, and integrating digital accessibility seamlessly.
  • Knowledge of accessibility best practices.
