UX/UI Designer

About the position

Join us in reimagining how teams craft educational materials and manage collaborative workflows through innovative interface design. This short-term contract role offers the opportunity to shape the user experience for a Coda-based solution that will serve as the foundation for a larger product initiative. We're looking for a Senior UX/UI Designer who thrives on turning complex workflows into intuitive, elegant interfaces. They will lead the design of high-fidelity prototypes, visual assets, and branding elements that enhance usability and engagement. While implementation may not occur during the contract period, your work will directly inform future development.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with developers, stakeholders, and the Program Experience Research team to understand user needs and project goals
• Design intuitive, accessible, and visually engaging user interfaces tailored for a Coda-based solution
• Create wireframes, mockups, and interactive prototypes to communicate design intent
• Develop branding elements and visual assets for use in the Coda environment
• Present design rationale to executive stakeholders and incorporate feedback iteratively
• Establish scalable design patterns and guidance for future use
• Deliver design documentation and assets in a format ready for future implementation
• Design for accessibility (WCAG 2.1 AA compliance) and responsiveness across devices
• Collaborate using modern design ops practices

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in UX/UI design with a strong portfolio of interface and prototyping work
• Proficiency in tools like Figma, Adobe XD, Sketch, or similar
• Experience designing for web-based platforms or productivity tools
• Strong understanding of user-centered design principles and accessibility standards
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Portfolio highlighting your best interface design work - especially any experience with productivity-focused applications

Nice-to-haves

• Familiarity with Coda - whether through a project, prototype, or internal tool; While deep expertise isn't required, hands-on experience or working knowledge is important
• Expertise in an emerging document management platform that's transforming how teams author custom courses-perfect for designers who enjoy learning new ecosystems and pushing creative boundaries
• Experience with low-code/no-code platforms and their design constraints
• Experience delivering design assets for handoff to development teams
