About the position

The NBC10, Telemundo 62, and NBC Sports Philadelphia triopoly seeks a Vice President of Brand and Strategic Marketing to lead a promotional staff and manage the planning, production, and scheduling of multi-platform promotions with a strategic emphasis on local news coverage.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership, direction, motivation, and development for the promotional team including producers, editors, and graphic artists.
  • Create station promotional campaigns with strong emphasis on local news, weather and sports.
  • Build action plans based on station research to achieve strategic goals and grow our customer base.
  • Analyze data to track the performance of key content and marketing campaigns.
  • Produce and schedule multi-platform and on-air promotion campaign spots.
  • Partner with Sales Marketing to manage all production/marketing needs for the sales department and clients.
  • Sustain and further develop collaborative relationships with department heads and members of our News, Sales, Digital, Operations, and related departments.
  • Qualify and manage all external brand partners for media buying.
  • Develop effective processes for production, budgeting and financial controls for all projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in a local television station environment.
  • Experience in a leadership role within a creative marketing/production function required.
  • Proven ability to run digital, television, and social media campaigns.
  • Able to work a flexible schedule and shifts for an in-office position.

Nice-to-haves

  • Significant background developing multi-platform promotional campaigns (on-air, online, mobile, digital, etc.).
  • Experience that includes working at a Spanish speaking news organization is a plus.
  • Ability to speak Spanish is a plus but not a requirement.
  • Intense level of accountability and urgency in delivering results.
  • Extremely strong, proven leadership abilities, with a premium on persuasion and communications skills.
  • Demonstrated skills in coaching, mentoring and developing talent.
  • Excellent collaborator who builds relationships with ease and rallies people around a common vision.
  • Strong empathy and the ability to be a key sounding board for the President/General Manager on high priority issues.
  • Proven experience overseeing the look of station graphics and design of station sets.
  • Outstanding creative and innovation skills and an entrepreneurial personality.
  • Ability to multi-task in a dynamic, content driven, technology intensive environment.
  • Big picture thinker who understands research, strategic plans, and company business strategies.
