About the position

The Vice President of Marketing & Program Management is a dual-function executive role responsible for developing and executing the company's overall marketing vision while overseeing strategic initiatives and operational programs across the various business lines of Riot. This role demands a results-driven leader with a strong grasp of brand strategy, data-driven marketing, and enterprise program management to drive revenue growth, elevate stakeholder engagement, and enhance cross-functional collaboration. This individual will collaborate with high-performing cross-functional departments (operations, finance, legal, communications, and technology), coordinate complex initiatives across these departments and between business lines, and ensure all projects and programs are executed effectively and aligned with strategic business objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the creation and execution of a comprehensive, multi-channel marketing strategy aligned with company growth targets in the data center and engineering business lines.
  • Analyze market trends, customer data, and competitive insights to drive decision-making.
  • Oversee product marketing initiatives, ensuring cohesive messaging, go-to-market strategies, and competitive positioning.
  • Oversee marketing budgets and track ROI across campaigns and channels.
  • Set and manage marketing KPIs and OKRs, ensuring reporting transparency to senior leadership.
  • Utilize customer segmentation, lifecycle marketing, and performance data to drive retention and acquisition efforts.
  • Collaborate with high-performing functional teams, fostering collaboration and growth.
  • Champion the use of marketing technology (e.g., marketing automation, CRM, analytics platforms) to enable scale and insights.
  • Lead organizational change management as marketing evolves to support broader business goals.
  • Guide the organization's branding, digital marketing, content, demand generation, and overall marketing strategy.
  • Lead strategic, cross-functional and cross-business programs from planning to execution, ensuring alignment with Riot's goals.
  • Establish and maintain project portfolio frameworks, including governance, prioritization, and resource management.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure timely delivery and cross-functional and cross-business alignment.
  • Manage agency and vendor relationships, ensuring cost-effective and impactful partnerships.
  • Coordinate across multiple projects, managing interdependencies, resolving cross-project issues, evaluating and prioritizing projects across business lines to maximize strategic alignment, resource efficiency and ROI.
  • Establish and maintain effective program management frameworks and reporting processes.
  • Develop and oversee program budgets, timelines, communication plans, and risk management protocols.
  • Interface regularly with Engineering, Procurement, Development, Sales, Finance, and Operations teams to ensure efforts are fully integrated.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or related field; MBA or equivalent executive education preferred.
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in marketing and program/project management roles.
  • 5+ years of senior leadership experience (VP or Director-level) with P&L responsibility and cross-functional oversight.
  • Strong knowledge of modern marketing strategies, tools, and performance analytics.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and complex cross-business projects.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
  • Familiarity with project management software (e.g., Asana, Jira, Smartsheet) and marketing platforms (e.g., HubSpot, Salesforce, Google Analytics).
  • Demonstrated success in building marketing functions from the ground up or scaling high-growth marketing organizations.
  • Expertise in both brand and performance marketing strategies.
