About the position

This internship will follow a hybrid/in-person model. Interns will be based at the Stellantis Headquarters and Technology Center in Auburn Hills, Michigan, and are expected to work on-site 3 to 5 days per week, depending on business needs. Relocation assistance may be available for candidates who meet specific eligibility criteria. The internship program is scheduled to run from May through August 2026. Responsibilities

  • Understand trends, consumer research and brand identity.
  • Create effective and engaging experiences and design solutions.
  • Communicate and sell design solutions to senior management and colleagues.
  • Assist with design projects and creative initiatives.
  • Provide interactive user interface expertise and support from concept to production projects.
  • Create graphical assets using standard 2D and 3D designer tools.
  • Research and utilize emerging technologies.
  • Interface with Design Office management and employees.
  • Participate in a variety of relevant activities and assignments.
  • Gain practical experience working with engineers and developers.
  • Collaborate on diverse programs and projects.
  • Receive mentorship from on-site designers overseeing daily activities.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree or higher in User Experience, Human Factors, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Computer Science, Product Design, Graphic Design, Interaction Design, Visual Design, Game Design, Film, or related field.
  • Able to work 40 hours per week during the internship.
  • Candidates must submit a current portfolio specifically highlighting automotive design if applicable.

Nice-to-haves

  • Completion of sophomore year or higher at an accredited university by the Summer of 2025.
  • Exceptional design intuition, with strong presentation and design communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of Alias, Microsoft Office, Illustrator, Photoshop, PowerPoint and/or similar programs.
  • Ability to work both individually and as a team member in a creative and diverse environment.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong interest in the automotive industry and new technologies.
  • Must exhibit strong leadership characteristics.
  • Creative, Curious, and Innovative.
