The Legal Department has a summer 2025 Internship opening as part of the Corporate/Law Firm Alliance Summer Program (CLASP) offered through the LatinoJustice PRLDEF organization. CLASP, is a summer internship intended to provide qualified law students (at selected law schools) with career building opportunities for two consecutive summers at a partnering corporate legal department and law firm. If selected, the student will work for Equitable the first summer, and for Willkie Farr & Gallagher the second summer. This 2-tier structure will: Provide paid summer positions for two consecutive summers. Match students with mentors within the corporate legal department and the law firm, who can provide ongoing guidance on professional development. Allow students to spend two consecutive summers working directly with corporate and law firm attorneys. During the internship, the Intern will be provided with different assignments within the Corporate Practice Group. Through each of the assignments, the intern will be focused on assisting with capital markets transactions, mergers and acquisitions, investments including private equity, real estate, and private placements and finally commercial contracts. Examples of assignments include: Participating in internal client meetings, as well meetings including external counsel. Reviewing and drafting SEC disclosure for products prospectuses and related materials. Reviewing state insurance law and creating work products summarizing those requirements that apply to products offered. Performing legal research on state insurance, SEC and tax matters. Collaborating and working with members of the Corporate Practice Group and relevant business areas, including product development, actuarial, treasury, and finance departments.
