About The Position

Bergen New Bridge, a not-for-profit safety net facility, provides high-quality comprehensive services, including acute and ambulatory care from Rutgers New Jersey Medical School and community physicians, mental health and substance use disorder treatment, and long-term care to the greater Bergen County community. BNBMC is looking to hire paid summer interns across a broad field of functions. Salary is $16.50/hour. We can provide up to 40 hours per week work schedules. Requirements

  • Must have completed at least Freshman year of College/Trade School.
  • High School Diploma Required

Responsibilities

  • Assist help with operational tasks and ordering / stocking supplies
  • Data collection: per diem staff fulfilling their work commitments, call out, enter data in an excel template, maintain logs, update schedules, send reminders to staff, help with audits and monthly reports
  • Enhance patient experience: patient rounding and providing comfort items, engaging and attending to patients during busy times
  • Support Nurses and Leaders administratively: updating whiteboard, help prepare staff education material, writing meeting agenda, taking meeting minutes and assist with follow up
  • Participating in departmental education: Assist educators with in-services and presentations, track competency completions and file forms
  • Organize papers and closets, scan documents, upload forms, assemble binders
  • Clerical tasks, answering phone calls and routing calls, running errands, help preparing admission and discharge packages, assisting with labeling shelves, binders, storage bins
  • Strengthen the pathway for future nurses: shadowing nurses and through early exposure to the nursing profession an experience will be provided that eases the transition into the nursing role.
