About The Position

The 211 Resource Database Curator supports the development, accuracy, and maintenance of the 211 Eastern Oklahoma (211EOK) resource database, which connects individuals and families to essential health and human services across 37 counties in Eastern Oklahoma. 211 is a free service available by phone, text, chat, and online search that links people in need with organizations that provide assistance. This position collaborates with service providers, community partners, and United Way organizations across Eastern Oklahoma to ensure the database remains accurate, comprehensive, and compliant with national information and referral standards. The position may be filled at Level I or Level II depending on experience and qualifications.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to organize complex information related to health and human services.
  • Strong time management and task prioritization skills.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • High level of professionalism and discretion with sensitive information.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, SharePoint).
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Experience with databases, data management, or information systems preferred.
  • Experience gathering and organizing community resource information preferred.
  • Familiarity with nonprofit or human services systems preferred.
  • InformUSA Community Resource Specialist – Database Curator (CRS-DC ) certification preferred, or willingness to obtain when eligible.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain the integrity, accuracy, and completeness of the 211-resource database.
  • Conduct routine, seasonal, and annual updates to resource listings.
  • Research and identify community services to ensure comprehensive coverage across Eastern Oklahoma.
  • Verify program information and communicate directly with service providers to maintain current listings.
  • Classify services using InformUSA information and referral standards and Human Service Indexing System (HSIS) taxonomy.
  • Analyze service gaps and assist in expanding database coverage.
  • Identify external databases, directories, and hotline services for collaboration opportunities.
  • Maintain engagement with diverse communities to ensure inclusive resource representation.
  • Represent 211 Eastern Oklahoma at meetings, events, and community gatherings as assigned.
  • Serve as the 211EOK Lead for Disaster Engagement by coordinating with partners, attending relevant meetings, and curating and maintaining accurate, up-to-date listings for disaster response and emergency resources.
  • Support the Community Resources Manager and 211 leadership with database initiatives and reporting.
  • Assist with 211 response efforts during community emergencies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
