About The Position

City Wide Facility Solutions is excited to welcome a full-time 2nd Shift Night Manager to our vibrant Central New Jersey office! In this role, you'll support our Central New Jersey franchise, which is part of an extensive network of over 70 markets across the United States and Canada. Objective As a Night Manager, you'll play a vital role in ensuring that our Independent Contractors (IC) deliver janitorial and other maintenance services that align with our high-quality standards and meet our clients' specific needs. Your responsibilities will involve visiting various client facilities in a designated area of Central New Jersey, including warehouses, distribution centers, auto dealerships, industrial plants, offices, and medical facilities. The Night Manager should be adept at exercising good judgment when it comes to addressing issues, providing proactive coaching to improve performance, and being ready to "roll up their sleeves" to tackle challenges as they arise. Overview of a Typical Day 4pm - Clock in at our East Brunswick office. Meet with our Facility Solutions Managers to discuss any client complaints, new starts, feedback on cleaning crews, etc. Read the day's inspection reports. Confirm the accounts you'll visit tonight. 5pm - 11pm - Visit accounts (typically visit a specific geographic area in Central New Jersey....could be Edison one night and Toms River another night, etc.). Visit accounts with complaints first and then check in on other accounts. Route is often planned out in advance for the week, but could change based on customer issues or emergencies. Take any phone calls from cleaning crews while in transit to troubleshoot issues. 11:30 - 12am - Complete final report of what happened that evening, recommendations of any staffing changes, and confirmation that complaints were resolved.

Requirements

  • Typical working hours 4pm - 12am (can be flexible with hours)
  • High school diploma required or equivalent experience in commercial janitorial services industry.
  • Three years of prior experience in management; coaching, motivating, developing, and leading a team in multi-unit or locations.
  • Strong planning, organization skills, and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Must have reliable transportation as job requires traveling to client sites across Central New Jersey
  • Must be innovative and strive for continuous process improvement.

Nice To Haves

  • Bilingual Spanish is highly desired
  • Handyman, carpet cleaning, strip/wax, etc. or other relevant experience a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain productive, working relationships with Independent Contractors (IC) and In-House labor by communicating client priorities and collaborating on solving problems.
  • Review scope of work and ensure quality assurance.
  • Communicate with Facility Solutions Manager daily for any issues that need immediate attention, including a nightly recap via email or phone message.
  • Make recommendations for work assignments and terminations when necessary.
  • Manage inspections, customer complaints, and customer requests following City Wide policies and procedures.
  • Oversee new account starts
  • Ensure compliance with client policies & procedures, approved cleaning tools and equipment and their proper use.
  • Other duties as necessary.
