About The Position

Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and experienced Weld Shop Supervisor to help oversee our welding operations. The ideal candidate will have strong welding skills, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to lead a team effectively.

Requirements

Proven experience as a welder, 5+ years MIG and TIG preferred
Strong knowledge of welding techniques, materials, and equipment.
Excellent leadership and communication skills.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings and welding symbols.
Understanding and willingness to utilize Lean manufacturing strategies to improve efficiency and minimize waste.
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Responsibilities

Supervise and coordinate the activities of welders and welding support staff.
Ensure all welding work meets quality standards and project specifications.
Train and mentor welding staff, providing guidance on best practices and safety procedures.
Collaborate with PM, client engineers and other stakeholders as needed to maximize efficiency, quality and customer satisfaction.
Inspect completed welds to ensure they meet quality and safety standards.
Maintain welding equipment and ensure it is in good working condition.
Develop and implement welding procedures and protocols.
Collaborate with other departments to ensure project timelines are met.
Enforce safety regulations and promote a safe working environment.
Supervise a team including approving time and attendance, performance management
This position will generally be a 50/50 split of your time – half operating, half in supervisory tasks
