About The Position
The 3rd Grade Math Teacher is responsible for delivering rigorous, standards-aligned mathematics instruction that builds strong conceptual understanding, procedural fluency, and problem-solving skills. This teacher creates a structured and engaging classroom environment where all students are supported in developing confidence and independence as mathematical thinkers. This role is ideal for an educator who embraces instructional coaching as a tool for growth, values collaboration, and holds consistently high expectations for student achievement while building strong relationships with students and families.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
- Oklahoma teaching certification (or eligibility) in Elementary Education or Mathematics
- Commitment to Santa Fe South’s mission and the students and communities we serve
Nice To Haves
- Experience teaching mathematics in grades 2–5
- Strong understanding of evidence-based math instruction
- Experience using student data to drive instruction
- Bilingual (Spanish/English) skills
- Experience working in diverse or high-need school communities
- Demonstrated growth mindset and openness to feedback
Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality mathematics instruction aligned to Oklahoma Academic Standards
- Plan and internalize lessons, preparing materials and anticipating student needs
- Use formative and summative assessment data to guide instruction and support student growth
- Provide targeted support and enrichment to ensure all students make strong academic progress
- Establish a structured, joyful, and academically focused classroom culture
- Maintain clear academic and behavioral expectations
- Foster student confidence and perseverance in mathematics
- Collaborate with grade-level teammates, instructional coaches, and support staff
- Actively participate in Santa Fe South’s instructional coaching model
- Contribute to professional learning and campus initiatives
- Build strong relationships with students and families through consistent communication
- Maintain accurate records and fulfill professional responsibilities
- Contribute positively to campus culture
