About The Position

Primary Purpose Provide students with appropriate learning activities and experiences in mathematics and science designed to fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth. Enable students to develop competencies and skills necessary to function successfully in society and meet Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) expectations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university
  • Valid Texas Teaching Certificate with appropriate elementary certification
  • Knowledge of elementary mathematics and science curriculum and instruction
  • Ability to implement TEKS-based lessons
  • Strong classroom management and organizational skills
  • Ability to analyze and use student data to drive instruction
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with grade-level teams

Nice To Haves

  • Student teaching or classroom teaching experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement lesson plans aligned to district curriculum and TEKS standards for math and science.
  • Use a variety of instructional strategies and resources to meet the needs of diverse learners.
  • Differentiate instruction to support students at varying academic levels.
  • Incorporate hands-on learning, problem solving, and inquiry-based science activities.
  • Use formative and summative assessments to monitor student progress.
  • Establish and maintain a positive and structured learning environment.
  • Manage student behavior in accordance with district and campus expectations.
  • Foster a culture of respect, collaboration, and academic risk-taking.
  • Assess student learning regularly and provide feedback to students and parents.
  • Identify struggling students and provide interventions or support.
  • Encourage critical thinking, curiosity, and problem-solving skills.
  • Maintain open communication with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Participate in parent conferences and campus meetings.
  • Collaborate with grade-level and content teams to improve instruction.
  • Participate in professional development and staff meetings.
  • Stay current with best practices in elementary math and science instruction.
  • Supervise students in the classroom, hallways, cafeteria, playground, and other assigned areas as required.
