About The Position

4th Grade Teacher (Anticipated, One Year Only) Needed Location: Williston Central School Champlain Valley School District (CVSD) is seeking an anticipated full-time 4th grade classroom teacher for a one-year Leave of Absence (LOA) replacement at Williston Central School (WCS) starting FY27. This individual will help create a welcoming, friendly, and efficient environment within the school. In this role, they will work with the principal and staff to support the overall smooth functioning of the academic program each school day.

Requirements

• A Vermont Professional Educator’s license with the appropriate endorsement for elementary education.
• Knowledge and experience with the Common Core, VT Standards, and Next Generation Science Standards.
• The ability to establish friendly and professional rapport with students, staff, and families.
• Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and a flexible, creative approach to problem-solving.
• Demonstrated poise and patience when dealing with the public or difficult situations.
• The ability to work independently as a self-starter and prioritize tasks under pressure.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with Bridges mathematics, Responsive Classroom, and PBIS.
• Proficiency with educational technology and the purposeful integration of digital-aged learning tools.

Responsibilities

• Instructing a comprehensive 4th-grade curriculum, including literacy, mathematics, and science.
• Planning, instructing, and assessing a proficiency-based curriculum for elementary students.
• Differentiating instruction for learners with differing abilities to ensure all students are supported.
• Maintaining a positive and helpful demeanor while ensuring students are supported and monitored during instructional time.
• Effectively communicating observations and suggestions for continuous systems and school improvement.
• Carrying out school policies and procedures with high levels of confidentiality.
