About the Grand Junction Regional Communication Center: The Grand Junction Regional Communication Center (GJRCC) serves multiple highly-respected law enforcement and fire/EMS agencies that use state-of-the-art equipment and modern tactical response techniques to provide the highest level of service to the citizens of Mesa County, Colorado. You’ll be part of a team of professionals who work to improve the lives of those in their community. We are an IAED ACE-accredited center, and our training program is APCO-certified through the Agency Training Program Certification, and we work with national and state professional associations to equip us to serve our citizens. Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Type 3,000 kph (50 wpm).
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Good moral character, judgment, and decision-making skills.
• High attention to detail and ability to multi-task.
• Ability to work varying shifts, including day, swing, graveyard, holidays, and weekends as assigned.
• Ability to work required overtime when necessary.
• Ability to pass a background investigation that meets all local, State, and Federal requirements.

Responsibilities

• Answering emergent and non-emergent calls for service while simultaneously recording information.
• Calming, negotiating, advising, and otherwise communicating with the caller to obtain the necessary information to determine both the nature of the call as well as what resources to send.
• Coordinating and relaying information and assistance requests to the appropriate law enforcement, fire, or emergency medical service agency.
