PULASKI COUNTY SPECIAL SCHOOL DISTRICT CERTIFIED JOB CLASSIFICATION POSITION TITLE : ACADEMY COACH QUALIFICATIONS: Three years of teaching experience Valid Arkansas Educator’s License REPORTS TO: Building Principal/Director of Academies JOB GOAL: To help students master subject content and credentialing skills that contribute to their educational, social development, and career/college readiness, incorporating a framework clustered into four domains of teaching responsibility: planning and preparation, classroom environment, instruction, and professional responsibilities. PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES : Business/Community Partners: Develop and maintain advisory boards for each academy and plan four meetings per year—plan meeting in the summer for the entire year Work directly with business/community partners which include email communication to collect community investment hours twice per month—maintain ongoing communication with all partners to ensure meaningful engagement Report Community Investment hours to Community Convening Organization twice monthly Host an annual business partner appreciation event for all business partners at the end of each school year Hold an Academy Planning Retreat in the summer with each academy advisory board to review academy offerings to make sure all academies are aligned with workforce projections—develop Program Modifications as needed as a result of discussions Visit business partners place of business in the summer District Meetings/Training: Serve as the liaison between the district and the school to ensure consistent communication to all academies Attend training for various “quasi-administrative” roles to include master scheduling, SIP, district strategic plan, etc. to be prepared to assist administrators with normal management functions Attend all Partnership Council meetings that include representation for your pathways/academies (five meetings per year) Attend all required training as designated by the Academies of Central Arkansas Director School/Academy: Attend at least one team meeting for each academy monthly to monitor Highly Effective Teaming processes Coordinate and ensure participation of experiential learning for all academies, including but not limited to career fairs, college visits, guest speakers, industry-related field trips, job shadows, internships Coordinate the Academy Annual Review with each academy leadership team Promote and support work with each academy to align work with NCAC accreditation and maintain accreditation status, working towards “model status” Work with Academy Team Leads to ensure completion and submission of annual action plans, calendar of events, and budgets for each academy to the district office Work with Academy Team Leads and Administration to ensure proper spending of academy budgets. Coordinate and monitor progress for teacher externships—help ensure the right teachers are on the teams and commit to the business experience Facilitate and work with school staff to plan and implement Academy Showcases, School Tours, First Choice, and related academy recruitment events Coordinate Academy Ambassadors and serve as coordinator for all ambassador-related events Serve on the school leadership team Offer guidance to the master scheduling team for academy considerations Assist academy team in teaching through the lens of the academy Spend 95% of their time in academy specific activities and not pulled for other school duties Complete or Facilitate the Completion of Reports: Program Modifications Academy Action Plans, Budgets, Calendar of Events Academy Annual Review (for each academy including Freshman Dual Credit Industry Certifications Academies of Central Arkansas Annual Report (school’s portion) Academy Enrollment/Graduation Rate, Purity, etc. Partnership Council Dashboards Student Experience Tracker PBL Tracker Professional Development: On-board new academy teachers, team leads, and APs to the academy model—while we are working to develop district training, ACs can help on-board new staff before training is available Freshman Seminar—ensure new Freshman Seminar teachers understand curriculum and implement according to district expectations Senior Capstone—ensure new Senior Capstone teachers understand curriculum and implement according to district expectations Re-train team leads on Team Meeting protocols as needed Train staff/APs in PD designated by the principal Maintain a list of teachers that have completed PBL training TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Salary Range: Teacher Salary Schedule. Placement depends upon education and experience.
