About The Position

We’re looking for an Account Lead to join our Accounts team. In this role, you’ll own client retention, renewal strategy, and long-term account health for a large portfolio of clients—ensuring they experience consistent value, strong partnership, and clear strategic direction. This role is well-suited for professionals who enjoy building long-term client relationships and strategic partnerships, including those with backgrounds in account management, customer success, or relationship-focused sales roles. You will be responsible for maintaining clear visibility into contract health and revenue risk across your accounts, leading renewals, identifying opportunities to strengthen the partnership, and stepping in decisively when challenges arise. This is a senior strategic account management role focused on protecting revenue, managing risk, and guiding long-term client relationships. Rather than managing routine deliverables or day-to-day campaign execution, the Account Lead focuses on client strategy, renewal leadership, and overall account health. Success in this role means driving predictable retention, reducing churn risk, and strengthening partnerships through thoughtful leadership conversations and strong client relationships.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of experience in account management, customer success, client services, sales, or digital marketing roles (agency experience preferred)
  • Experience leading renewal conversations, supporting revenue retention, and navigating client discussions with key stakeholders
  • Ability to manage many client relationships simultaneously while staying highly organized, keeping track of details across accounts, and maintaining strong follow-through
  • Strong ability to identify and manage account risk and lead complex client conversations when challenges arise
  • Demonstrated business and revenue acumen—comfortable owning pricing, scope integrity, and profitability conversations
  • Experience identifying and leading upsell opportunities and coordinating cross-functional teams (HubSpot experience preferred)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, especially in high-stakes client situations
  • Strong organizational systems and judgment—you can manage a large portfolio of client relationships while prioritizing strategically and maintaining clear visibility into account health and risk.

Responsibilities

  • Own revenue retention and renewal strategy for your portfolio by leading renewal conversations, reinforcing client value, and protecting long-term revenue stability.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key client stakeholders, ensuring Coalmarch’s value and strategic direction are clearly understood at the business level.
  • Lead strategic conversations with clients, including business reviews and long-term planning discussions that reinforce performance impact and guide future priorities.
  • Maintain clear visibility into account health and revenue risk, identifying early signals of instability and leading recovery or escalation efforts when necessary.
  • Identify opportunities to strengthen the partnership, recommending adjustments to scope or strategy that improve client outcomes and long-term account success.
  • Partner closely with internal teams to ensure client strategy, performance insights, and business priorities translate into effective marketing execution.
  • Delegate operational account management responsibilities appropriately, maintaining strategic oversight while ensuring execution is handled efficiently by supporting team members.
