About The Position

The Client Success team is a cornerstone of how Intrepid Direct serves our clients today, and a key component of our future growth. This position requires a broad skill set and a curious mindset with a desire to learn about our customers, as well as the courage to challenge the old industry standard ways of working. The Account Manager Trainee will actively participate in a yearlong formalized training program combined with practical hands-on work experience to gain in-depth knowledge of insurance products, policies, and industry regulations. Through this process, the Account Manager Trainee will develop the skills necessary to provide superior customer service and expertise to our clients for their Property and Casualty insurance needs

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent industry work experience required.
  • Customer service orientation: Takes responsibility for handling client requests and needs.
  • Build sustainable relationships of trust through open and interactive communication.
  • Excellent communication (verbal/written) skills.
  • Pro-active and problem solving with attention to detail.
  • Innovative mindset with the ability to contribute to our industry disruptor culture.
  • Desire to develop further knowledge of commercial insurance and coverages.
  • Planning & organizing: ability to organize, multi-task, prioritize and manage time effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Gain a thorough understanding of the insurance industry and company’s insurance products and services.
  • Learn foundational insurance coverages and risk management strategies.
  • Actively Participate and engage with training sessions to learn and grow as an insurance professional.
  • Utilize training program to earn Property & Casualty licensing and other insurance certifications.
  • Shadow experienced account managers and other team members to learn best practices and gain hands-on experience.
  • Participate in monthly connections to receive guidance and feedback from senior staff.
  • Observe and assist in client meetings, negotiations, and other key activities to build practical skills.
  • Mentorship and coaching with exposure to senior management.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to curiosity by actively engaging in opportunities for growth and education with team members and mentors.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors and clients.
  • Address client inquiries and concerns regarding insurance policies promptly and professionally.
  • Assist in managing client accounts to ensure satisfaction and retention.
  • Document all interaction with customers and prospects in our management system for record keeping.
  • Answer incoming customers’ call and email requests for certificates, endorsements, and any other service needs.
  • Develop the skills necessary to complete technical tasks such as securing external quotes, processing a new business submission, processing a renewal, ensuring compliance needs are met, etc.
  • Work closely with other departments, such as underwriting and claims, to ensure a cohesive approach to client management.
  • Participate in cross-functional projects to improve overall client experience.
