About The Position

As an Account Manager, your role is to develop and execute market strategies and sales growth plans for assigned and/or new accounts, primarily through telemarketing and electronic outreach. To serve as a business partner for assigned customers by promoting the value of Viking Electric’s solutions and services, and proactively growing business.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma required; post-secondary education preferred, or equivalent experience.
  • 2+ years of business-to-business sales preferably in the electrical industry or equivalent experience.
  • Strong understanding of Electric products and Viking Electric services and solutions.
  • Good understanding of the market and competitors and basic financial skills.
  • Must have effective communication and negotiating skills.
  • Strong selling, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organization and time management skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite with the ability to learn new technology.

Responsibilities

  • Proactively build and maintain relationships with various levels of customer organizations by providing value and commercial insight to customers about their business and market conditions.
  • Prospect for new accounts as applicable.
  • Maintain a thorough knowledge of, and actively promote, Viking Electric’s services, solutions, and product offerings - particularly our digital solutions.
  • Negotiate with customers and vendors to obtain orders, meet schedules, enhance profitability, and position Viking Electric as their indispensable supply chain partner.
  • Negotiate, develop, and coordinate implementation of an effective pricing strategy for assigned accounts.
  • Secure SPA commitments from vendor partners and work with pricing team to implement price rules.
  • Utilize available sales resources to quote material, enter sales orders, and manage returns.
  • Identify tasks and transactional-type business that can be delegated.
  • Communicate individual customer needs and product preferences to Account Representatives or Customer Service Representatives to ensure consistent customer experiences.
  • Collaborate with product specialists (automation, project sales, datacom, tool, digital, etc.) to ensure the customer is receiving information and services needed in a timely fashion.
