About The Position

The Accountant I position is responsible for assisting the accounting department with the day-to-day tasks. Including but not limited to, receiving and applying checks, posting quantities, signing lien waivers, recording entries, and completing monthly reconciliations.

Requirements

  • Associate degree or equivalent experience of 1-3 years accounting experience preferred
  • Must be familiar with computers, emailing, and able to work with Microsoft applications
  • Detail oriented
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Understanding of all accounting sequencing/critical timeline scheduling.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite software

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and documentation skills.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Receiving checks
  • Applying checks to the correct invoice, AIA, and estimates in the accounting software
  • Applying paid quantities to unit price billings
  • Create new estimates as necessary
  • Sign and return lien waivers
  • Communicate with project managers on accounts receivable collections
  • Prepare journal entries
  • Reconcile general ledger accounts
  • Prepare bank reconciliations
