This position performs a variety of duties which involve basic accounting and bookkeeping principles.

Requirements

  • Required Experience: 2-4 years’ experience in an Accounting/Clerical position or in a related area. Preferably some accounting background
  • Required Education/Training: High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Required Skills and Abilities: Candidate must possess strong written and verbal communication skills. He or She should be professional, motivated, highly organized and able to work well alone or with a team. He or she should be able to follow instructions and be adept at general office skills such as typing and filing. Working knowledge of MS Excel and Word required.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of AS400, Realpage & QuickBooks not required but useful.

Responsibilities

  • Reconcile or note and report discrepancies found in records
  • Assist in approval of wires, ach & bank transfers
  • Process Annual Business Reports
  • Reconciliation of monthly operating bank statements
  • Prepare and post Journal entries
  • Research & correct bank discrepancies
  • Obtain quarterly bank ratings from financial institutes
  • Assist other team members when needed
  • Assist accounting department staff with various projects
  • Process requisitions, payments, receipts and other necessary accounting activities, which may include accounts payable and receivable.
  • Track and Log Audited Financial Statements
  • Verify Checks with banks and check cashing locations
  • Look up and print cancelled checks for accountants, billing and accounts payable
  • Send/ Receive Mail
  • Type, Fax, Scan & File Correspondence
  • Answer general questions and requests
