About The Position

We are seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Assistant to join our team in a fully remote capacity. This role is heavily focused on project accounting and client billing and will support both our Eastern and Pacific Time Zone operations (with primary support aligned to Eastern Time). Must be located within the U.S.
The ideal candidate brings hands-on experience with contract-based billing (Cost Plus, Time & Materials, and Fixed Price), thrives in a deadline-driven environment, and can work independently while collaborating closely with project managers and senior billing staff.

Requirements

• Associate’s degree in Accounting or Finance
• 3+ years of professional accounting experience with a strong emphasis on billing
• Experience with contract-based invoicing (Cost Plus, T&M, Fixed Price)
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage deadlines efficiently
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong organizational and time management abilities
• Analytical mindset with solid problem-solving skills
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Teams)
• Working knowledge of Adobe software

Responsibilities

• Assist Senior Billers with gathering and organizing backup documentation for cost-based projects
• Prepare and process client invoices (Cost Plus, Time & Materials, and Fixed Price) in accordance with contract terms
• Compile and review supporting documentation required for invoicing compliance
• Set up projects in accounting systems based on contract review and approved budgets
• Partner with Project Managers to ensure accurate project setup and billing alignment
• Maintain organized and audit-ready financial records
• Prepare and maintain manual invoice tracking spreadsheets as needed
• Provide general accounting and administrative support to the finance team
