About The Position

Ampco Pumps is a fast-growing manufacturer of centrifugal pumps, positive displacement pumps and mixing & blending equipment used in the food and dairy industries, desalination, and various chemical and industrial applications. The Accounting Associate-Accounts Receivable is responsible for manning the day-to-day accounts receivable function while providing dependable accounting support to the Accounting Manager and Cost Accountant. This role requires strong follow-through, attention to detail, and the ability to independently manager recurring responsibilities and deadlines. This position is well-suited for someone who values consistency, accuracy, and ownership of their work.

Requirements

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field OR 3+ years of bookkeeping or accounting support experience.
  • Working knowledge of accounts receivable and general accounting principles.
  • Ability to manage routine, deadline-driven work independently.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Proficiency with accounting systems and Microsoft Excel.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with customers and internal teams.

Responsibilities

  • Own the end-to-end accounts receivable process, including invoicing, cash application, and customer account maintenance.
  • Maintain accurate A/R aging schedules and follow up consistently on past-due balances.
  • Communicate professionally and persistently with customers to resolve payment issues.
  • Review customer accounts and exercise judgement in releasing orders once credit issues have been resolved.
  • Provide timely and accurate customer credit references.
  • Maintain complete and well-documented customer account records.
  • Assist with inventory data entry related to physical inventory counts.
  • Support bank and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Provide back-up support for accounts payable to ensure continuity during absences.
  • Assist with month-end close activities and recurring accounting tasks.
  • Support special projects requiring accuracy, discretion, and follow-through.
