About The Position

The accounting intern provides crucial administrative and technical support to the finance department, handling tasks like accounts payable/receivable, bank reconciliations, data entry, and month-end closing procedures. They gain hands-on experience with accounting software (e.g., Great Plains) and GAAP, while assisting with audits, tax preparation, and general financial record maintenance

Requirements

• Currently enrolled accounting major at a 4 year accredited institution.

Responsibilities

• Perform month-end close tasks ensuring the appropriate recognition and classification of Georgia Aquarium transactions.
• Perform audit/review tasks as requested.
