About The Position
About the Role: This 12–16 week paid internship (May through August/September) is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented and motivated Accounting Intern to gain hands-on experience within our accounting team. We are looking for a junior or senior pursuing a degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field who is eager to apply classroom knowledge to real-world accounting operations. In this role, you will support day-to-day accounting activities, gain exposure to essential financial processes, learn directly from experienced professionals, and contribute to meaningful projects that make an impact within the organization.
Requirements
- Currently pursuing a degree (2-3 years of college education) with a concentration in Accounting, Finance, or Business
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel and basic accounting software
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
- Eagerness to learn and contribute to a team environment
- 3.0 GPA or greater preferred
Nice To Haves
- Experience with credit unions/banking
- Understanding of GAAP principles
- Prior internship or relevant class project experience
Responsibilities
- Assist with various projects to improve the department and the credit union
- Support monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing activities
- Reconcile bank statements and general ledger accounts
- Help prepare financial reports and documentation
- Maintain organized, accurate financial records
- Assist with data entry, filing, and scanning documents
- Perform other tasks as assigned by the accounting team
