The Accounting Manager, Management Reporting, plays a vital role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of accounting processes within Woodstream. Reporting to the Controller, this role is responsible for Accurate preparation of the monthly and quarterly financial results and reporting in accordance with accounting guidelines and ensuring quality and timely preparation of the Management P&L. Coordinating and reviewing journal entries, reconciliations, month-end and year-end close processes across the Finance Team. Identifying and capturing opportunities to speed the period close, and improve Balance Sheet reconciliation. By maintaining compliance with financial regulations and driving process improvements, the Accounting Coordinator contributes to the overall integrity of the company’s financial reporting.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 7+ years of experience in accounting or related finance roles.
  • Strong knowledge of general accounting principles and reconciliation processes.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP) and advanced Excel skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • SAP Expertise: Systems knowledge to effectively perform Administrator tasks and support system improvements and de-bugging.
  • Journal Entry Expertise: Accurately prepare and post journal entries for financial reporting.
  • Reconciliation Skills: Ensure the accuracy and completeness of general ledger account reconciliations.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Ensure timely and high-quality monthly reports while setting expectations for the finance team.
  • Documentation Skills: Maintain clear and accurate records of financial transactions and processes.
  • Process Optimization: Identify and implement improvements to enhance accounting workflows.
  • Compliance Management: Ensure adherence to financial regulations and internal controls.

Responsibilities

  • Accurate preparation of the monthly and quarterly financial results in accordance w/ accounting guidelines.
  • Coordinate all the steps of the process for faster period close processes.
  • Period close coordination: Management P&L - short term assets and liabilities reconciliation
  • Support Operations team with key closing transactions across sourcing and manufacturing areas.
  • Prepare and post journal entries to ensure accurate month-end and year-end closings. Including Cap Variance, and Consolidation entries, keeping track of inventory turns.
  • Tracks and performs all Add-back reconciliation and journal entries, ensuring clarity in adjustments and alignment with financial reporting standards and bank debt agreement.
  • Ensures timely and accurate reconciliation of Short-Term Assets and Liabilities by the finance team and investigate discrepancies to ensure accuracy.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide financial data and analysis as required.
  • Ensure all financial transactions comply with internal controls and external regulations.
  • Support audits by preparing necessary documentation and addressing auditor inquiries.
  • Monitor compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Act as SAP Key Controls Owner, Finance Administrator, and CoA Master Data Owner.
  • Validate Trial Balance for loading into One Stream.
  • Collaborate with IT to maintain, open, and close periods, and perform annual roll-over in SAP.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline SAP-related accounting workflows and reduce manual effort.
  • Provide training and support to team members on SAP tools and processes.
