About The Position

Responsible for overseeing several accountants to ensure month end close and audit processes are followed. Job duties include the following finance related activities: the preparation of accrual, expense, and intercompany journal entries, variance analysis of actual performance results, maintaining fiscal responsibility, and ensuring the establishment and administration of adequate internal controls within the organization. Will lead special projects like policy and process updates and administration of software tools.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles
  • Experience working with internal and external auditors on SOX compliance
  • Oracle ERP system intermediate to advanced knowledge
  • Excellent MS Office skills, especially Excel, Outlook, Teams
  • Ability to interact with various levels of personnel, including interacting accountants, clients, and upper management
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills to balance and prioritize work
  • Ability to operate successfully in an unstructured environment
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in business, Accounting, Finance or related field, or equivalent experience
  • Experience: 7+ years of experience in accounting
  • Managerial experience preferred
  • Office environment
  • Ability to sit for long periods of time
  • Vision abilities required to validate and enter data on computer

Responsibilities

  • Ensure all payroll and employee expense accounting transactional activities are completed accurately and on time.
  • Meet internal control requirements or define enhancements as needed.
  • Ensure timely and accurate monthly, quarterly and year-end close process.
  • Monitor related general ledger accounts.
  • Responsible for month end reconciliations, SOX sample testing, and other month end reports.
  • Guide financial decisions by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing policies and procedures.
  • Protect assets by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing internal controls.
  • Monitors and confirms financial condition by supporting internal and external audits; preparing and coordinating audit materials.
  • Prepare budgets by establishing schedules; collecting, analyzing, and consolidating financial data; recommending plans.
  • Achieves budget objectives by scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions.
  • Provides status of financial condition by collecting, interpreting, and reporting financial data.
  • Prepares special reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
  • Complies with federal, state/province, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation; anticipating future legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
  • Protects operations by keeping financial information and plans confidential.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Assesses current accounting operations, offering recommendations for improvement and implementing new processes.
  • Acts as an administrator to the travel management and expense reporting software tools.
