Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Basic skills in word processing and documenting in electronic medical records.
  • One year of experience with older adults or individuals with special needs preferred.
  • Commitment to high-quality engagement and services for residents.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and use sound judgment.
  • Comfort working with older adults or individuals with cognitive/physical challenges.
  • Ability to lead both small and large group activities—creativity welcome!
  • Valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
  • Ability to work independently and adapt to needs as they arise.

Responsibilities

  • Build strong, respectful relationships with residents, families, and team members.
  • Represent our community with professionalism and kindness.
  • Support and uphold resident rights and report concerns when needed.
  • Remain patient and composed when encountering challenging behaviors.
  • Collaborate efficiently with staff and volunteers.
  • Assist with planning, leading, and documenting life enrichment activities.
  • Support resident participation and help transport residents to and from activities.
  • Complete documentation, care plans, and assessments in a timely manner.
  • Lead Resident Council meetings and manage related records.
  • Report behavioral or health concerns to nursing staff promptly.
  • Maintain a clean, organized activity environment.
  • Assist with researching and obtaining activity materials.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned.
