About The Position

Westminster, a luxury senior living community located in central Austin, is
seeking an experienced and dependable individual to join our skilled nursing
team as a PRN Activity Assistant.

The Activity Assistant is responsible for assisting with a varied activity
program designed to meet the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual needs of
the Health Center residents.

Requirements

• Must have the ability to read, write, and speak English effectively, using proper speech and grammar. Ability to follow written and oral instructions in English.

Nice To Haves

• Two years experience in a social or recreational program in a licensed health care setting or related field is preferred.
• Certification as as Activity Professional is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assists with coordination and participation at resident parties, cultural activities, special entertainment, day trips, special events, and activities at the bedside where indicated for the resident population.
• Assists the Activity Director in meeting the needs of all Arbour residents.
• Performs or guides the movement or transfer of residents to and from recreational areas.
• Inventories supplies and equipment to determine repair, maintenance needs, and cleanliness.
• Assists in directing volunteer activities, enlists their support and coordinates their efforts.
• Provides orientation and supervision of volunteers.
• Leads discussion and special interest groups, games, and other activities with residents, families, etc.
