Activities and events for residents and staff. Job Description: The Activities Assistant will assist the director in planning and implementing resident activities. Additionally, the Activities Assistant will provide social and emotional support to individual residents in accordance with established standards, guidelines and regulations for resident safety. Successful candidates have the ability to think independently, will be self-motivated, organized, and must have a positive, upbeat attitude. Activities include exercise, games, arts and sciences, travel, lectures, spiritual programs, outings, hosting speakers and musical events. Calendars are based on the ever-changing desires of our residents, so every day is different! Flexibility is very important Looking for Team-player willing to pitch in and assist as needed in other areas of the facility in emergent situations Good communication skills Must pass the physical required by this facility LNA license or interest in getting an LNA license - preferred Experience working in a skilled nursing environment is a plus! Responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to: Enthusiastically run daily activities that engage our residents Develop new activities that appeal to the different interests of our residents Safely transport residents to and from activities Observe the status of residents regarding physical, emotional, social and spiritual health and report all changes in status to nursing staff Observe resident's rights Assist in evacuation of residents in an emergency Report to work as scheduled and demonstrate dependability and punctuality Work cooperatively/assist with other departments Represent the facility to family and community events Attend in-services, as required Perform other duties as assigned Requirements: The Activities Assistant must be able to safely and successfully perform job-related functions, with or without reasonable accommodations required by federal, state, and local law. They must also: Have a High School diploma or equivalent Be able to read, write, speak and understand the English language Possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action Be able to move intermittently throughout the workday Meet the general health requirements set forth by the policies of this facility which include a medical and physical examination Be able to relate to and work with ill, disabled, elderly, emotionally upset and at times, hostile people within the community If you are up for the challenge and a lot of fun, send us your application!!
