About The Position

At Santa Cruz Post Acute, we are committed to creating a warm, uplifting, and engaging environment for our residents. Our Activities Department plays a key role in supporting residents’ social, emotional, and cognitive well‑being through meaningful daily activities. We are looking for a compassionate, energetic, and creative Activities Assistant to help plan and lead activities that bring joy and connection to our residents. If you enjoy working with seniors, have a positive attitude, and love making a difference, this role may be a great fit.

Requirements

  • Friendly, patient, and enthusiastic personality
  • Ability to motivate and engage residents with varying needs
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Able to work 2–3 days per week, including weekend availability
  • Must pass background requirements per state regulations

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in activities or recreation preferred (senior care/healthcare a plus)

Responsibilities

  • Assist in planning, coordinating, and leading group and one‑on‑one activities
  • Encourage resident participation and provide support during activities
  • Help set up and clean up activity spaces
  • Document attendance and resident engagement per facility guidelines
  • Escort residents to and from activities as needed
  • Participate in special events, holiday programs, and outings
  • Contribute to creating an engaging, fun, and inclusive environment
