Activities Supervisor - Camp Jane
About The Position
Alys Beach is a master-planned 158-acre beach community in active development that includes luxurious private dining, recreation and retail amenities and experiences, vacation rentals and several signature annual events. The Activities Supervisor is responsible for assisting with the planning and overseeing the daily operations of children and family activities while ensuring a safe, fun, and engaging environment for our guests. This role involves supervising staff, planning age-appropriate activities, maintaining safety standards, and providing excellent service to children and parents.
Requirements
- Previous experience working with children in a supervisory or leadership role
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills
- Knowledge of child development and age-appropriate activities
- Ability to remain calm, patient, and positive in a fast-paced environment
- First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Strong problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills
- Flexible hours, including weekends and holidays
- Active role requiring standing, walking, and engaging with children
- High school diploma or equivalent (early childhood education preferred)
- 2+ years of experience working with children
Nice To Haves
- Supervisory experience is an advantage
Responsibilities
- Promote a fun and engaging atmosphere for guests
- Ensure the safety, security, and well-being of all children at all times
- Assist with the planning and organization of activities, special events, themed days, group activities and other family and children’s offerings
- Lead, age-appropriate, educational and recreational Camp activities
- Supervise, train, and support Activities Attendants and volunteers
- Enforce policies, procedures, and child safeguarding standards
- Encourage, recruit, register and schedule guests to participate in recreational activities
- Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming environment
- Communicate effectively with parents/guardians regarding schedules, activities, and any concerns
- Manage attendance records, incident reports, and daily reports
- Ensure toys, equipment, and facilities are safe and well-maintained
- Handle any emergencies calmly and according to established procedures
