Berkshire Community College is expanding its pool of qualified adjunct instructors in Life Sciences to meet growing student demand, especially in response to the MassReconnect and MassEducate initiatives that are making community college more accessible--and often free--for Massachusetts residents. We are currently seeking adjunct faculty to teach Anatomy & Physiology courses as part of our Science & Business Division. As we add course sections, we will draw from this pool to make teaching assignments based on need, availability, and a successful interview. Please note that this pool is intended for in-person instruction at our Pittsfield, MA campus. Adjunct faculty in the Life Sciences provide high-quality, student-focused instruction in foundational biology courses for students pursuing programs in healthcare, allied health, and other science-related fields. The ideal candidate brings both content expertise and teaching experience in Anatomy & Physiology, and embraces inclusive, equity-minded, and evidence-based instructional practices. These two-semester courses cover human anatomical structure and physiological function, from the chemical and cellular level through organ systems. Topics include integumentary, skeletal, muscular, nervous, endocrine, cardiovascular, respiratory, digestive, urinary, and reproductive systems. Labs support lecture content with hands-on activities, models, and virtual or in-person dissections.
