St. Joseph’s College of Nursing invites applications for Adjunct Faculty to teach undergraduate Human Growth and Development in a fully asynchronous online format. This course serves nursing and allied health students and supports their understanding of lifespan development and its application to patient-centered care across diverse populations. St. Joseph’s College of Nursing (SJCON) offers a single-purpose, hospital-based Associate in Applied Science degree with a major in Nursing. Program options include: A traditional weekday format following a two-year academic calendar The Dual Degree Partnership in Nursing (DDPN), a collaborative 1+2+1 program with Le Moyne College enabling students to earn both an AAS and BS in Nursing within four years The Evening/Weekend option completed over 18 months The Accelerated Dual Degree Partnership in Nursing (ADDPN) for students who already hold a BA or BS degree The College is accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) and the Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE). Human Growth and Development is a foundational general education course and serves as a prerequisite for nursing coursework. The course emphasizes major theories and principles of development across the lifespan, including biological, cognitive, and psychosocial perspectives. Instruction intentionally connects developmental theory and research to clinical nursing practice, patient communication, and care planning across the lifespan. The course is delivered asynchronously and designed in alignment with Quality Matters (QM) standards and best practices in online adult learning.
