Online Adjunct Faculty are hired each semester on an as-needed basis. Online Adjunct Faculty are responsible for creating an online learning environment that assists students in reaching their goals and for providing effective instruction and assessment within the framework of the provided single version master course. Courses are taught completely online in primarily 8-week (rarely 16-week) format. We are seeking adjunct faculty to teach asynchronous online biotechnology regulatory affairs coursework including food and drug law, clinical trials, risk management, and/or product life cycle. These courses are traditionally low enrollment (under ten students) and therefore may be offered at a reduced pay rate depending on actual headcount. The College is currently evaluating its policies and procedures for out of state (remote) workers. Accordingly, only candidates who reside in Indiana, Ohio, Kentucky, Illinois and Michigan will be considered for this position at this time. Major Responsibilities: - Facilitate student learning by delivering assigned classes in accordance with College policy and course objectives. IvyOnline’s minimum expectations for Online Adjunct Faculty are found in the Academic Support and Operations Manual, Policy 7.5.2. Online Adjunct Faculty are also encouraged to review and implement best practices from the online teaching best practices list. - Make optimal use of available technology to enhance instructional methods. - Supplement and alter, where appropriate, lesson plans, assignments, tests, and materials. Maintain accurate student records, grades, and other requirements. - Engage with students proactively and regularly in meaningful and productive ways that impact student learning and lead to a positive experience with Ivy Tech Community College. - Demonstrate evidence of developing and implementing teaching strategies focused on engaging online students with their learning. - Interact with students and co-workers in a professional and cooperative manner, complying with College policies, guidelines and expectations. - Maintain a safe, quality online educational environment. - We are looking for a candidate who is committed to an environment where team members feel valued, respected, and supported.
