An institution with a mission to create pathways for student success and impact, Walden is dedicated to high academic standards and helping students make a difference in their professions, organizations, and communities. Walden is a Benefit Corporation (B-Corps®) with a mission to support our students in transforming themselves as scholar-practitioners. Walden offers more than 100 online degree and certificate programs, for students pursuing a bachelor's, master's, or doctoral degree or certificate. Walden University has graduated nearly 200,000 students and is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission. Walden's Values and Mission A focus on impact is not just something we talk about—it's who we are. Walden's commitment to helping our students make an impact in their world began with our founders. Students and faculty choose Walden because of that commitment, and we keep our values in mind with every action we take. We are a teaching institution enabling human potential. Online higher education is our specialty. We are committed to person-centered teaching and learning in all our academic endeavors with intentionality, using a framework of shared accountability to enhance and advance the health and well-being of communities, systems, and organizations. We value the inherent worth, humanity, and dignity of every individual engaged in the learning process. The philosophy of our institution is not sink or swim: we meet students where they are and accompany them as they strive to move forward on their academic pathways. Our Students Walden is a broad-access institution serving students from many backgrounds and life experiences. We teach the learners who come to us, nurture their curiosity, and support them as they build the academic skills needed to achieve their educational goals. By creating opportunities for working adults to advance their education, Walden has helped generations of alumni forge paths of change in their professions and communities. This is why our mission matters and why our faculty and staff remain deeply committed to our students' success. Contributing Faculty – College of Interdisciplinary Undergraduate Studies About This Role We're looking for part-time faculty who bring warmth, empathy, and genuine care to online teaching. You'll guide students through their learning, provide thoughtful feedback, and build meaningful connections through clear, timely communication. You'll work in a community that values students and faculty equally—where respect, support, and human connection come first. Why Walden Everything we do is guided by a commitment to social impact. As pioneers in online education, we've built a community of care where inclusive teaching isn't a buzzword—it's how we show up every day. We believe in the worth and dignity of every person in our classrooms. The best learning happens when everyone feels valued and seen. Our Students Our students are working adults. They're balancing education with work, family, and life. We meet them where they are and walk alongside them. We're all lifelong learners here, and we understand the challenge of balancing life and learning. We recognize how intersectionality shapes our students' lives, and we provide community, support, and rigor tailored to each person. "To teach in a manner that respects and cares for the souls of our students is essential if we are to provide the necessary conditions where learning can most deeply and intimately begin." – bell hooks, Teaching to Transgress
