About The Position

The Clinical Chemistry Laboratory Assistant provides essential instructional and technical support within the MLT program. This position assists the Clinical Chemistry instructor in preparing and conducting student laboratory sessions. The assistant ensures that labs are organized, safe, and efficient while fostering a positive learning environment for students.

Responsibilities

Laboratory Preparation:
Assist in preparing reagents, standards, and patient samples for student exercises.
Perform accurate pipetting, labeling, and aliquoting of samples according to established protocols.
Set up and clean laboratory benches, glassware, and instrumentation prior to and following each lab session.
Instructional Support:
Support the instructor during laboratory sessions by monitoring student performance and maintaining order in the classroom.
Provide guidance to students on proper laboratory techniques, safety practices, and workflow.
Answer student questions related to clinical chemistry principles, procedures, and calculations.
Reinforce the instructor's directions and ensure students follow all safety and procedural guidelines.
Operational and Safety Responsibilities:
Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Adhere to institutional safety policies and proper handling of biohazardous materials.
Report any equipment malfunctions or safety concerns to the instructor immediately.
