About The Position

Teach the undergraduate NDFS 200 Nutrient Metabolism course on the BYU Provo, UT campus during the Spring 2026 term for Evening School. Manage and train teaching assistants. Hold office hours outside of class to help students learn the material. Provide students with feedback on written assignments. Direct management over course materials, grading, and submitting final grades.

Requirements

• An undergraduate and/or graduate degree must be in nutrition, dietetics, food science, or a related field. The required degree must be completed by the start date.
• Experience developing syllabi, lectures, assessments, and instructional materials.
• Demonstrated expertise in nutrient metabolism, including knowledge of biochemical pathways, macronutrient/micronutrient functions, and metabolic regulation in health and disease.
• Strong understanding of evidence-based nutrition and current dietary guidelines, with the ability to translate complex scientific concepts into clear, accessible instruction.
• This position requires the successful candidate to relocate and/or reside in Utah for the duration of their employment.
• All new employees who are members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints will be required to hold and be worthy to hold a current temple recommend.

Nice To Haves

• PhD in nutrition, dietetics, food science, or related field with previous coursework in biochemistry.
• Preference is given to qualified candidates who are members in good standing of the affiliated church, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
