About The Position

Administrative Assistant to the Office of Teaching and Learning (7.0 hrs/day; 210 days/year) It is the policy of the Daviess County Board of Education that no person in this district shall, on the basis of race, color, creed, religion, sex, age, marital status, national origin or disability, be denied the benefits of, or be subject to discrimination in any educational program or activity. Requirements

  • High school diploma, G.E.D. certificate, or satisfactory progress toward G.E.D.
  • Demonstrate and/or develop skills to operate office and educational equipment and a minimum of two years of increasingly responsible secretarial and clerical experience.
  • Must meet the requirements of a criminal record check as specified by Kentucky state law.
  • Has met health requirements as specified in district personnel policy.
  • Work independently with little direction.
  • Analyze situations accurately and adopt an effective course of action.
  • Read, interpret, apply and explain rules, regulations, policies and procedures.
  • Communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
  • Meet schedules and time lines.
  • Displays knowledge of and use of a computer.
  • Consistently displays self-discipline.
  • Cooperates with staff, both certified and classified.
  • Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.

Responsibilities

  • Perform advanced-level secretarial duties requiring independent judgment and analysis.
  • Plan, organize and coordinate office activities and communications to relieve the Director of routine administrative and clerical details.
  • Compose independently or from oral instructions letter, memos, bulletins or other material.
  • Maintain records and prepare reports.
