About The Position

Work under minimum supervision to ensure the efficient operation of the KC-Longview office and provide clerical services. Handle confidential information and engage in frequent contact with a diverse student population. As part of the KC-Longview team, the Cashier will work with admissions, registrar, and business office departments as needed to ensure the accuracy and timeliness of all cashiering and admission functions and activities. The Part-Time Administrative Assistant will work the cashier’s window, answer phones, receive payments, and verify daily deposits. This position will be responsible for assisting in answering the phone while maintaining a polite, consistent phone manner using proper telephone etiquette Additional responsibilities include assisting with other office duties as necessary. Assist with student account-related tasks, including refund questions, drop processes, and holds Assist students, staff, and faculty at the cashier’s window with payment and/or account questions Additional hours are required during registration. Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • A minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent is required; an associate degree or higher is preferred
  • Must have excellent organizational skills, keen attention to detail, and possess the ability to work in a cordial, professional manner with diverse population groups with the necessary sensitivity to ensure student (s) privacy.
  • Should have knowledge and have previous experience with computers and data entry
  • Good verbal communication skills and be able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Must be self-motivated and detail-oriented
  • Must be organized, expedient, tactful, even-tempered, and able to maintain student confidentiality.
  • Ability to keep accurate records, including an accounting of cash drawer/safe, while working in a high-paced environment with frequent interruptions
