About The Position

The primary purpose of the Section Administrative Support position is to assist the Deputy Director of Child Welfare in carrying out various activities in support of the mission of the Child Welfare Section. These duties will include ensuring prompt and accurate communication across teams, scheduling meetings to accommodate multiple individuals’ schedules, and queuing meetings and reports for the Deputy Director and Assistant Deputy Director. This position will be responsible for maintaining various data repositories of person and agency contact information as well as administrative data sources for client outcome measures. Tracking of tasks with due dates and reminders to leadership to ensure completion of tasks and feedback loops to Section Chiefs is also a priority. Drafting presentations and various communications on behalf of the Deputy Director and Assistant Deputy Director will be required. Managing travel requests and reimbursements are also required.

Requirements

  • High school or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and one year of administrative experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Demonstrate a basic knowledge of child welfare services in North Carolina.
  • Experience in communicating clearly both verbally and in writing, ability to use correct grammar, vocabulary, spelling, ability to read and proofread written correspondence and must have a good working knowledge of computers and their associated equipment.
  • Experienced in using Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access are required; Including but not limited to knowledge of Visio and Zoom.
  • Experience in providing strong customer service, organizational skills and being detailed oriented. Includes the ability to organize, plan, establish priorities, carry out objectives and adhere to work plans and deadlines that maintain flexibility and modify plans when needed as well as develop practice guidance and materials and when needed.
  • Experience or have knowledge of current automated systems used to support Child Welfare in NC.
