About The Position

An independent forum for prompt and impartial resolution of administrative law contested cases involving citizens and state agencies, investigation of alleged unlawful employment practices in state government, and codifying administrative rules. The major purpose of this position is to provide administrative support in the processing of Medicaid appeals on behalf of the OAH. Specifically, reviewing Medicaid appeals that are received by OAH by US Post, email and fax for accuracy and inputting the data into the Case Management System (CMS) and assigning a case number. Referring cases to the Mediation Network and the Division of Health Benefits (DHB). This position is responsible for identifying issues. This position must maintain the confidentiality of Sealed or Protected Contested Cases. This position is a back-up hearing assistant in an emergency to record Medicaid Hearings.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and two years of related administrative experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Proficiency in the use of a desk top computer as well as Microsoft Office Suite
  • Thorough knowledge of the CMS program
  • Knowledgeable in the setup and operation of all hearings recording equipment

Responsibilities

  • Reviewing Medicaid appeals received by US Post, email and fax for accuracy
  • Inputting data into the Case Management System (CMS) and assigning a case number
  • Referring cases to the Mediation Network and the Division of Health Benefits (DHB)
  • Identifying issues
  • Maintaining confidentiality of Sealed or Protected Contested Cases
  • Back-up hearing assistant in an emergency to record Medicaid Hearings
  • Assisting Medicaid Recipients and Medicaid Providers with filing appeals
  • Explaining the mediation and hearings process
  • Assisting with inquiries pertaining to Medicaid cases
  • Preparing daily reports of the Medicaid appeals received for the Mediation Network and the Division of Medical Assistance
  • Collecting filed documents from the parties of record and the ALJ
  • Organizing documents by file number
  • Processing documents by entering information into the ACTS
  • Adding documents to appropriate file
  • Printing and affixing labels to all new case file folders
  • Drafting correspondence in response to various requests
