About The Position

Reporting directly to the Warden at a medium custody male correctional facility, this position is responsible for providing administrative assistance and office management services. This position is assigned to the office of the Warden and must always present a professional image. Job responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, the following: 1. Providing correspondence creation/maintenance and records management, filing, and database maintenance. 2. Processing documents and correspondence by transcribing dictation from rough drafts provided by the Warden often using independent composition. 3. Making and receiving telephone calls, processing of incoming and outgoing mail for the Warden, making reservations, appointments, and arranging transportation needs. 4. Maintaining a calendar of periodic reports and handles a significant amount of sensitive and confidential information. 5. Answering high volume of calls from the general public, elected officials, offender families and staff; and will also greet and direct visitors and officials to the Warden's office. 6. Possessing thorough knowledge of prisons policies and operations to respond to inquiries. 7. Providing statistics, data or other information on very short notice at times and must be able to maintain information in and easily retrievable manner.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or General Educational Development (GED) diploma AND two years of related administrative experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
