About The Position

The North Carolina Zoo is looking to hire an Administrative Assistant (Marketing Admin) to join the Zoo's Communications and Marketing team. The position reports to the Deputy Director and Chief Communications Officer. The Zoo Administrative Assistant provides administrative support, such as office management, preparing travel documents, tracking marketing projects, scheduling meetings and reservations; logistics, purchasing, maintaining work orders; note-taking and distributing staff documents; tracking and reconciling budgets; ensuring adherence to state budgetary rules and regulations; filing, and creating reports. Other duties include preparing presentations and arranging tours of the North Carolina Zoo.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and two years of related administrative experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Microsoft Office suite fluency
  • Must meet DNCR Fleet Safety Guidelines and have ability to obtain and maintain a valid driver's license issued from within the United States or be able to obtain one within 90 days of employment
  • Must be able to lift and move up to 50lbs on occasion

Nice To Haves

  • Five plus years’ experience managing an office environment
  • Proficient in the operation of a wide range of office equipment—such as computers, projectors, printers, and multi-line phone systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality
