About The Position

Using independent judgment, the Administrative Support Associate performs administrative and office support activities for multiple team members in the Professional Services Department. Duties include fielding telephone calls (regarding filed fees, participation and other provider inquiries, typing correspondence via letter, fax, or email, etc.). Handles research, inquiries, and other support functions, including internet research. Assist other members of the Professional Relations/Services Department with various administrative functions. May handle multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Minimum of 1 year of clerical experience, insurance industry preferred
  • Requires high school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

  • Opens, sorts and date stamps incoming mail. Performs routine clerical functions, including photocopying, printing claim images, faxing, and preparing documents to be scanned.
  • Works directly with Professional Relations associates (including Credentialing Unit and Network Development), providing them support for their business needs.
  • Proofreads Provider fee filing updates and prepares confirmation letters and kits.
  • Handles new participation missing information workflows by contacting the dental offices to obtain the missing information.
  • Communicates and coordinates with staff to investigate overdue and non-responsive providers for participation and (re)credentialing workflows (including malpractice and office facility evaluations)
  • Assists in preparation of departmental mailings (e.g., (Re) Credentialing, Participation kits, Welcome Kits and Fee Updates)
  • Logs data/utilizing spreadsheets, database tools, and word processing software
  • Responsible for preparing correspondence and entering data in Database such as phone and fax numbers, email addresses, provider addresses, provider’s filed fees and updating participation status
  • Using existing database design and established macro set up, keys data in MS Access, Flaghub and Data Dental including provider information related to Flagship participation
  • Verification of licensure (including CDS and DEA (for prescribing medicaments) by using established sources (system look up, fax and online URL)
  • Other duties as assigned.
